Theory In The Rough

Behind the Mountains

They say behind the mountains are more mountains. Now I know it’s true. I also know there are timeless waters, endless seas, and lots of people in this world whose names don’t matter to anyone but themselves.

Off to Rome, and then to London. Back in Melbourne some time in mid-June.

Online access is likely to be quite limited, particularly for the first part of the trip. I’ve queued up a few posts for the period when I’ll be most likely to have no online access at all. Apologies in advance if I am unable to respond to comments.

I’ll be attending and, in some cases, presenting to the following events while I’m away:

21-23 May, Rome, John Cabot University, Beyond Reification: Critical Theory and the Challenge of Praxis (PDF flyer)

29-30 May, Warwick University, Hegel Conference: Truth and Falsity (programme)

2 June, London, Goldsmiths, Marx and Philosophy (JPG flyer)

Wish me luck πŸ™‚

    Hi,

I sent you a mail about this earlier, but just in case it gets lost in cybersapce:

Do you think you could send through a rough draft of the paper (doesn’t matter what order the claims are arranged in, just so that he can familiarise himself with them) soon-ish, and then if you want a finalised(ish) one nearer the time? I’m just a little concerned to uphold the promise of giving him plenty of time to acquaint himself with the material.

You said something about coming to John’s ‘Attack the Headquarters’ thing; the final session is on teh 3rd, the day after your talk, so do stick around if you fancy it.

I hope the flight isn’t too grim.

    Hi again,

Further to the previous comment: I saw Alberto earlier today, and it seems you’re already in contact; as such, please ignore my fussing as it all seems to be in hand. Have fun, see you in Warwick for the Hegel conference.

Tom – You’re adding a mild sense of creditors in pursuit to the blog πŸ˜› I followed up with Alberto when you first mentioned the issue on the blog, and have sent him something – not quite what I will say, but close enough for purposes of preparation. Apologies for not cc’ing you on the correspondence – I’ve been in a rush, and just wanted to make sure Alberto had what he needed.

    Hi NP,

I just dropped by and discovered what you are up to!

Hope you have a fantastic time in Europe! Good luck with the presentations.

Hope to have a catch up sometime when you return.
